MERMAID DIY: SEA TREASURE NECKLACES
We teamed up with Olivia, the mama behind Life with Liv and Viv, to bring you the most adorable mermaid-theme DIY. These Sea Treasure Necklaces are such a fun way to keep little ones busy during these hot summer months.
Here's what you'll need:
Shrinky Dinks Paper
Trimmings
Hole Punch
Paint + Brush
Glitter
Sharpie
Baking Sheet
Parchment Paper
Scissors
Cookie Cutter or Stencil
STEP ONE:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
STEP TWO:
Trace design onto paper (pro tip: use a gold metallic sharpie so if it shows, it's a pretty color!)
STEP THREE:
Paint your design and let it dry completely
STEP FOUR:
Add glitter!
STEP FIVE:
Once the design is dry, cut it out leaving a 1/4 inch clear border
STEP SIX:
Punch a hole at the top of the design for the string of the necklace
STEP SEVEN:
Line baking sheet with parchment paper and place designs on the sheet. No touching!
STEP EIGHT:
Bake for 3 minutes
STEP NINE:
Remove baking sheet from oven and immediately press each design with a paper towel to ensure they lay flat
STEP TEN:
Let cool
STEP ELEVEN:
String up all of your pretties for your little mermaid!
